1Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing use of Chronopedia.com (the "Site"). By accessing the Site, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service.

2Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Site to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software or technology used to provide the Site
  • Circumvent or interfere with any security or access-control measures
  • Send automated requests (bots, scrapers, crawlers) at a rate that disrupts the availability or performance of the Site for other users
  • Harvest or collect data from the Site in bulk without prior written permission
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation, including data protection and intellectual property laws
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit original content from the Site without written permission
  • Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation

3Fair Use of the API

Chronopedia generates timelines by querying Wikipedia and our own processing infrastructure. Excessive or abusive use of these capabilities places a burden on our systems and on the Wikipedia API. We reserve the right to rate-limit or block access for any user or IP address that we determine is making unreasonable use of the Site.

4Consequences of Violations

Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your access to the Site, without prior notice. We may also take appropriate legal action where violations constitute unlawful conduct.

5Reporting & Contact

If you become aware of any use of the Site that violates this AUP, or have any questions, please contact us at:

6Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP at any time by posting a revised version on this page. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
